Eduardo Ramirez-Gonzalez

Eduardo Ramirez-Gonzalez is a Colombian cinematographer, FAA-certified drone operator, and underwater camera operator based in Los Angeles, California. He is a member of IATSE Local 600 – International Cinematographers Guild and the ADFC (Colombian Society of Cinematographers).

Raised on Colombia's Pacific Coast, Eduardo developed an early fascination with both natural light and the ocean. Spending his childhood between the rainforest and the sea, he discovered scuba diving at a young age—an experience that continues to influence his visual language. Whether filming underwater, from the air, or on the ground, his work is driven by a passion for creating immersive, emotionally resonant imagery.

Eduardo studied filmmaking at the prestigious Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV) in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, before earning a Master's degree in Feature Film Cinematography from the Prague Film School in the Czech Republic. His international education, combined with years of experience across multiple continents, has shaped a cinematic style that blends technical precision with powerful visual storytelling.

Over the course of his career, Eduardo has photographed feature films, documentaries, television series, commercials, branded content, sports, and live events. His cinematography credits include productions such as Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story, Escape from Extinction, Dark Asset, and Narcos, while his camera department experience spans high-end narrative and commercial productions. He has also worked as an aerial cinematographer and underwater cinematographer on projects requiring specialized camera expertise.

Beyond narrative filmmaking, Eduardo has collaborated with internationally recognized brands, studios, broadcasters, and sports organizations including Netflix, the NFL, MLB, FIFA, and the UFC, bringing cinematic storytelling to documentary, commercial, and live productions.

He is an active participant in @Sporas: Artisans for a Change and a member of ARRAY Crew, the professional network founded by acclaimed filmmaker Ava DuVernay to expand opportunities and diversity throughout the film industry.

Recognized for his versatility and collaborative approach, Eduardo moves seamlessly between intimate dramatic storytelling, large-scale commercial productions, aerial cinematography, underwater filmmaking, and high-profile sports broadcasts. His philosophy is simple: every frame should serve the story, creating images that are emotionally authentic, visually striking, and timeless.
